Request a Presentation or Training Event from the IECAM Staff

IECAM staff provides presentations and trainings related to the IECAM project.

Training

Description: A brief overview of the IECAM project and Web site, and a brief tour of the GIS (Geographic Information System) section of the Web site. A sample search, map identification task, and demographic theme map task are provided. For the balance of the time, attendees perform their own searches and other tasks. IECAM staff is on hand to answer questions.

Time: approximately 2 hours

Requirements:
  • Computer lab with personal computers (PCs) on which Internet Explorer 7.0 is installed
  • one master computer with projector for IECAM trainer.
  • Minimum 8 participants (contact IECAM staff for exceptions to this minimum)

Note: The GIS section of the IECAM Web site is best viewed in Internet Explorer version 7.0 on a PC. The GIS display does not function optimally in browsers other than IE7 on the PC, or on any browsers on the Mac.

Presentation

Description: Overview of the project and a tour through the tabular and GIS (Geographic Information System) sections of the Web site. The tour provides instructions on how to search the IECAM database, how to interact with the IECAM state map, how to combine demographic theme maps and child care locations, and several additional functions. Time for questions and answers is included.

Time: approximately 1.5 hours

Requirements:
  • Room with screen or wall on which to project images.
  • Internet connection in room
  • Minimum 8 participants (contact IECAM staff for exceptions to this minimum)
