In the initial phase of the project, IECAM is not focusing on presenting data on child care use and availability in the City of Chicago. Data for the city as a whole will be presented where available. However, data will not be separated into the various community areas of the city. Early Childhood Program Supply and Demand

This site, sponsored by the Chapin Hall Center for Children, University of Chicago, and the Chicago Department of Children and Youth Services, provides information on child population and eligibility, early education and child care utilization, and early education and center-based slots for community areas in Chicago.

Illinois Birth to Five Project

This site, operated by the Ounce of Prevention Fund, provides thematic maps that show some demographic data (e.g., total population 2000, number of children under 5 in 2000) and some service utilization data (e.g., number of cases of child abuse or neglect) for community areas in the City of Chicago. The site also provides mapped locations of various early childhood services (Head Start, Early Head Start, Healthy Families Illinois, Parents Too Soon, Prevention Initiative 0-3, Parental Training 0-3, Safe from the Start, and PreK) in the City of Chicago.

This site, sponsored by the Chapin Hall Center for Children, University of Chicago, and the Chicago Department of Children and Youth Services, provides profiles of Chicago community according to 8 indicators, comparision of data across communities, and information on 8 indicators across Chicago communities.

Chicago Public Schools, Early Childhood Program Locator

This site, sponsored by the Chicago Public Schools and the Chicago Department of Children and Youth Services, allows users to find early childhood programs in the City of Chicago. Users type an address into a search form and they see early childhood programs located near that address.
