ISBE 0-3 Programs

Prevention Initiative
The Prevention Initiative for Programs Offering Coordinated Services to At Risk Children and Their Families (birth to three) is a program funded through the Early Childhood Block Grant (ECBG) in the State of Illinois.

Prevention Initiative programs offer coordinated services for expecting parents and families with at-risk children ages birth to 3 years. The aim of Prevention Initiative is to provide early, continuous, intensive and comprehensive child development and family support services to help families build a strong foundation for learning to prepare children for later school success.

Because of changes in the funding of continuing and new Prevention Initiative programs, and continuing Parental Training programs, that are related to the implementation of the Preschool for All Children program, the data cannot be presented with sufficient accuracy. Parental Training
The Model Early Childhood Parental Training (birth to three years) is a program funded through the Early Childhood Block Grant (ECBG) in the State of Illinois.

No new funds will be provided for Parental Training programs begun prior to FY2006. Programs will continue to receive funds at their current funding levels. Elements of the Parental Training program have been incorporated into the Preschool for All Children program.
