Illinois Department of Human Services Early Intervention Program
The Early Intervention (EI) program of the Illinois Department of Human
Services (DHS) serves children from birth up to age 3. The program offers 16 services for children: Assistive Technology,
Audiology/Aural Rehabilitation,
Family Training and Support,
Developmental Therapy,
Health Consultation,
Medical Diagnostic Services,
Nursing,
Nutrition,
Occupational Therapy,
Physical Therapy,
Psychological/Counseling,
Service Coordination,
Social Work,
Speech/Language Therapy,
Transportation,
and Vision Services. Services are provided through Child and Family Connections (CFC) offices throughout the state. The CFCs determine children's eligibility, evalute children in five areas, develop Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP), and maintain regular contact with families to assure that services are being received.
