Based on data from the U.S. Census Bureau, IECAM demographers prepared estimates of the number of linguistically isolated households for 2005. These data are available for the following geographic areas: state, county, IL state senate district, IL state house district, ISBE region, and IDHS region.Data are available for some, but not all, townships.

Note: The U.S. Census Bureau defines "linguistically isolated" as follows:
A linguistically isolated household is one in which no member 14 years old and over (1) speaks only English or
(2) speaks a non-English language and speaks English "very well." In other words, all members 14 years old and
